The Buck Stops . . . Somewhere

Discussion I had with Eli yesterday after he found and pointed out a stained spot on an old towel I use for diaper changing purposes.

Eli: "Oh, dear." Then his face became slightly alarmed. "It no me. It was Cowen."

Me: "It was Cowen?"

Eli: "It was Cowen! It was Emeline."

Me: "It was Emeline?"

Eli: "It was Harriet."

Me: "It was Harriet??"

Eli: "It was Patsy! It was Patsy!"

Apparently our Poodle is prone to staining our towels. I didn't know. So glad Eli cleared that up for me. I'm also glad Eli demonstrated his clear understanding of the pecking order around here. They learn so young.
