Cowen

I had Cowen memorize a section of President Monson's talk about missionary work. I plan on having him re-memorize it every year. During the memorization process we sat in a different place than usual at church and I heard a man in our ward sing. It was lovely. Logically, I put together a musical number where Cowen could say what he had memorized (motivation) and I could hear Brother Gardner sing. But then I got thinking about how nice it would be to have Cowen sing with his dad and eventually what happened was 6 little boys about Cowen's age (including Cowen) sang "I Hope They Call Me On a Mission" then four men (including Timothy) sang "Called to Serve" and then the medley ended with all the males singing the first verse and chorus of "Army of Helaman." It was pretty awesome. Cowen messes up a little in this video, but when they sang in church he did it perfectly. Awesome.

PS--Notice Miriam at the end. Perfect.

doing it. i needed a new thing for luke to memorize and this is so on topic for us right now. oh, by the way - cohen would appreciate this...luke came home from church with a drawing of him as a missionary with a hat, boots, horse, tag and book of mormon and announced that he was going to be a "cowboy missionary" when he grew up.
