All children adore Great-grandpa Wilford. He tells great stories, he writes on their fingernails with permanent marker, he makes up songs to play/sing. He's awesome.
He's also pretty famous around these parts in music circles. He played in the symphony for years. He writes music and plays numerous instruments--my favorites being the piano and accordian. And he's famous, randomly, in other places. For example, there was an article published about him in a national welding magazine because he does some "unique" welding in pianos.
There was also a write-up about him because a very expensive piano broke and the owners (a theater or university or something) thought they would have to get rid of it until someone asked if Wilford was still alive. When it was ascertained that he was alive, they hired him to fix it. He is the only person that people around here know about that could have. Sweet.
Eli is named after him. And his 5 greats grandpa Wilford Woodruff. A good legacy on both sides for Eli to live up to.

So THAT'S how the family is related to Wilford Woodruff. I heard that rumour somewhere.
Awesome that your kids are able to get to know their famous grandpa Wilford.
Andrea, those pictures with the great-grandparents are so sweet! And not just in a family history sort of a way. Hee. Hee
