Weekend Down South

This past weekend we headed south--to Provo and Aunt Kami's cheese fondue supper. I mean, to visit Kami because we love her (and her cheese fondue supper).

We had a glorious time.

Harriet was a pirate.

A rather drunken pirate. Makes one question how she was brought up.

After supper and trying to convince the children to sleep (without much success), we played Settlers Rails and Trails. It is a great game!

The competition was fierce.

Some players stooped very low to gain an advantage. (I still won though-ha!)

Some players managed a better poker face than others.

The next morning, after feeding and herding the numerous small people running amok, we split ways with Kami and her family and headed to Timp Cave in American Fork Canyon. It was my first time and I loved it! So did the kids.

The hike is a little steeper/longer than we usually do with the kids but they were troopers. Eli was the most unpleasant--he was not impressed that we stuck him in the backpack as he is used to walking.

Harriet got fussy while we were in the cave. The echoes were loud. I resorted to nursing her while we walked around (it was a guided tour so stopping and nursing her wasn't an option). Is that white trash or a logical choice? Whatever--it made her happy for a little while anyway.

Emeline was overcome with the happiness of the day and started doing a crazy Emeline dance. The girl has some moves!

The best part is that nobody died. People do, with some regularity, on that trail.

As for Tim's mustache--let's just say he and a certain Colombian entered into a 'stache growing contest (the only facial hair allowed by said Colombian's school) and the Colombian lost. Miserably. Go, Tim!

Fortunately, the contest has now officially ended and Timothy is growing back his beard. Yum.
