Eli at the ER

While we were at Grandma Young's house today, Eli found some excedrin. He had no trouble opening the bottle and he came and found me, his mouth open and tongue hanging out, gagging on a chewed up pill. Not so tasty.

We weren't sure how many he'd eaten (if any) so Timothy called poison control and they said to take him to the ER in 3 hours to get his blood tested.

I took him--but the ER doc said you test the blood in 4 hours so we were there a. very. long. time.

Eli was a champ. He and I read books in the waiting room (which was hilarious because he was totally getting into the Birthday Monsters and kept saying loudly in his new, weird, monsterish voice--"oh, those monsters!"). We investigated the patient room. He played with the buttons on the ancient tv in the room. We sang some halloween songs. And we distracted him from the poke in his arm by showing him the "goblin blood" coming out. He thought that was cool. He thought the blue bandage around his arm was even cooler.

Glad he's okay. Hope the prediction he made when I was buckling him up in the van doesn't come true. Eli: "Now it Emeline turn go to hostipal."

No, no, and no.
