Two Funnies

After dinner the other night, Timothy and I happened to pass each other while carrying things to the kitchen. Timothy kissed me as he passed and Emeline, who was still at the table, said, "Mom is so lucky."

Timothy's adoration of Emeline has always been reciprocated.

Last night Miriam gave the lesson for Family Home Evening. She, and the other children she rounded up to help her, performed three skits about how you can remain faithful. The first skit involved a bookstore where Miriam and Emeline noticed that Cowen was stealing a book so they beat on him until he agreed to not steal it. Then, in true Christian charity, they gave him the money to buy the book. I loved the beating part.

The second skit got a little out of hand because Cowen didn't want to be the bad guy again (Miriam had cast him as the bad guy for all three skits) so Timothy was the bad guy. Very, very funny--but not quite as the director wanted so some contention arose.

But the highlight of the evening, for me, was Miriam's closing prayer in which she said, "We are grateful that I had such a wonderful lesson prepared." Amen, little sister.
