Startling!

I french braided. Don't pass out from the shock. Miriam wants her hair really long so we had a discussion centering on the word "scraggly." As in, "If your hair looks scraggly every single day then it will be chopped off." And so, I have to learn how to do hair. Sigh. And she has to learn how to let me without weeping and/or wailing until she can do it herself. When will she be able to do it herself????

It all depends on the girl. I had a girlie girl {for lack of a better description} who did her own long hair by 9 years of age. Another who did hers by 10 or 11.

My youngest who is NOT interested in hair, makeup or dress up, still does NOT do her hair, except comb it out each morning. It just hangs there. She hates pony tails, braids, buns, etc. She is turning 14 this year. I give up. At least she combs it out daily now. She wanted it cut short, so she wouldn't have the hassle of it.......but when we did that, we realized together that with her extremely curly hair.....she would have to DO her hair everyday....and she hated that.....so long it is. ; )

Have fun! Sounds like it won't take long before she does her own hair, if she already expresses that she wants it a certain way......long.
