The menfolk had their yearly church sponsored overnighter the end of May.
Eli was pretty homesick. I talked to him that night on the phone and he asked me if I was coming and I said no, and then he kept saying, "Where's my mom?" like he wasn't convinced he was talking to his mom. But, he persevered and told me he had a great time when he got home.

Cowen didn't miss home for a second. When he got home all he could talk about was the numerous friends there. He is a social boy. In line below are two of the Beckman boys (buzzed hair). Emeline wrote her first love note (at 5!! I didn't write my first love note until grade 3) to the Beckman boy her age--Samuel. They are cute friends. She went to his birthday party last year and they are in the same primary class and we hiked quite a bit with them last year and just went on a hike with them on Monday. So she gets to see him fairly often despite not being in school together. When I ask her about her friends she says that Cassidy is her best friend and Samuel loves her.
Apparently all my boys had a good time so the overnighter was a success; at least from our perspective.
