The above is a picture Miriam drew of a temple to hold up while she gave her talk about temples in primary.
She did such a STELLAR job!!! The last few times she's had an opening exercises assignment, she's tucked her head against me and wouldn't say a word. This time, she stood up, stepped right up to the podium, read her talk without any stumbling, and sat back down. Cool as a cucumber. No help from Mom. She forgot to hold up her picture, but who worries about the small details.
Here's her talk--she told me what she wanted to say and then I put it together in a more organized fashion and cut out the redundancies (she wanted to say "I love to see the temple" about six times).
Temples
The temple is Heavenly Father's house on earth. At the temple we make sacred covenants, or promises, with God. We get sealed in the temple and do baptisms for the dead. We can go to the temple and pray and get guidance.
In the temple everyone wears white and everyone is very reverent. The Spirit of God is very strong in the temple.
I love to see the temple. I am going to get married there someday.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Okay--I also changed the married part. She said, "I am going to get married there SOON," but I don't want her to feel rushed. :) Alright, I also added the word covenants when Miriam brought up promises. But other than that--it is pretty close to what she told me to write down. I'm fairly certain I was bursting with the good kind of pride. :)
