11:42

I have been staying up WAY too late this week. First to finish reading Summers at Castle Auburn (2:30 am), then to cut out a bunch of leaves for the Liberty Tree and then comfort Emeline who is having a rough time of late (12:30 am), and now it is 11:42 and not only am I awake but I am blogging. A sure sign of mental imbalance. Ahem, Becky.

However, mentally imbalanced or not, I had to report that Kayli's and my book is FINISHED!!! Okay, Kayli has to write the last two paragraphs tomorrow, but she promised she would. So if any of you are interested in reading our book, just email me or Kayli and we'll send it to you.

I can't promise that it is any good. I thought it was, and then I thought it wasn't, and then I thought it was again, and now I've decided I have no perspective on the thing anymore. It's like a mom trying to evaluate her child's cuteness level--there is just too much bias in there for an accurate estimate. (Except in the case of Miriam--anyone with eyes can see she's a beauty. As for Emeline, my orangutan baby . . .. Just kidding--Emeline's just got some wild hair going on these days.)

So that is it--my first completely completed fantasy novel since I was in high school. What a great feeling!

I Would LOVE to read your new book. I can honestly say that I have never read a fantasy book in my life, but maybe that will help me get or give an honest opinion.
Truth is I am wanting to read it out of curiosity, as the talent in your family is just amazing, and I just have to see if writing is right up there with the rest of the long list of talents.
AND........f you are willing, I would like to let my 15 year old read it as well. Corey has read a thousand fantasy books in his life time. I would like to see what he says too. IF that's okay with you.
Now go get some sleep. : D

Are you saying that I'm mentally imbalanced?! I would call it good multi-tasking. Blogging when the kids are asleep and the house is clean and...ahhh, what the heck - it's so a given at this point that I'm not straight in the head. Besides, one should never write that late and that tired...no matter what you write you will always mistrust it - even in the light of day two days later...even though I really dug the pictures. I like self-portraits and while they're all moody and not pretty - they kind of capture my mood when I'm alone. Okay, send me copy of book - please, please, please...and you won't have to hound me this time...I have tons of time on my hands. Lots of love and congratulations and I had my own
"monkey" baby a few short months ago...and then out of nowhere - her hair grew and her eyes uncrossed a bit more...bb

Lynn, Kayli and I would be thrilled to let you read it (we don't have that many people knocking down our door) and your son--although this book is definitely a bit more on the girly side as the two main characters are teenage girls--but I don't know your email address to mail it to you. I don't know that you want to post it here either, or what, so let me know how I can get in touch with you or get your email address so I can send it.
