Like this one. The woman in the picture is my sister Lindsay's new roommate. I know that doesn't interest many of you, but I posted this picture for Kami as Sanna (I made up the spelling but that is how it sounds) is from Mongolia, and Kami LOVES ANYTHING MONGOLIAN. Randomly, Kami called while Sanna was at my house and when I said that I had a Mongolian over for supper, Kami flipped out and had to talk to her. She never did get back to talking to me about whatever it was she called about.
We had a great Family Home Evening tonight. I know, it is Sunday, but Timothy studies every night except Sunday for his CPA exam, so we've adjusted to his schedule.
I had a great idea for FHE that you should all steal and do. I had Timothy draw me a house that looked normal and then a fancy house that looked more like a temple. Then I read a paragraph from the Ensign article, "Cultivating Righteousness" in the August edition about the things we can do to bring the spirit into our homes and make it more like a temple/haven/shelter from the world. On the normal house picture we wrote things like, "Hitting, kicking, biting, not obeying, saying naughty things" to illustrate the things that keep the spirit out of our home. On the temple house picture we wrote all the things that help bring the spirit into our home, "Not fighting, obeying, helping each other, FHE, family scripture study, family prayer." You get the idea. The kids thought it was very fun.
Our activity, as you can see from the picture above, was "helping each other" by ripping apart the foam on the crib mattress Cowen destroyed to stuff into our poof. They loved that too. Especially when Emeline started stuffing all the pieces down her shirt and wandering around with an enormous belly. She was compared to Grandpa Rasmussen and . . . me. Sniff.
Emeline in Cowen's boots.
Just wanted to show you that Cowen really does do EVERYTHING, including sleep, in his boots.
Today on the swing.
Sanna enjoying my munchkins. She kept trying to win Emeline over, but had little success except when pushing her in the swing.
I let Miriam play with my make-up the other day, and she did a fairly normal job of it. Then she put some on Cowen and did a fairly normal job of that.
Then Timothy came home and wanted to play too. You can see the result of that!
We went to Timothy's cousin's wedding reception on Friday and several women came up to me to tell me how beautiful Miriam is. She didn't have the make-up on then. Yes, I was filled entirely with the wrong kind of pride, but I can't help it. She really is a beauty.
Cute, isn't he.
I just liked this picture. She manages to look cute and mischevious at the same time.

Yup! Your kids officially look cute WITH and WITHOUT make-up. : D
That is so cool about Sanna. She looked like she was having a blast with your kids.
We have had FHE on Sunday nights for years! Just recently my husband's work shifts went to days and so we tried having FHE on Mondays, but for someone reason we keep forgetting and just have it on Sundays. Habits are hard to break.
Love our idea. Going to steal it for sure. It's a great lesson for any age!
Wow--those are AMAZING pictures of your kids with makeup. Amazing.
I love that last picture of Emeline too. She is so cute. Fun pictures. Good girl for posting pictures. ;)
Cute pics - but the best is Cowen's sad "clown" face, classic. Oh - and I officially hate you - a FHE that is spiritual and involves everyone and actually happens. Pish to you! Just teasing - I was channeling my angry irish great granny - she would spit on your doorstep just for not having a good frothy pint ready for the little ones at the end of a hard lesson (it was hard times and I've heard many a story about my hard living, hard loving, hard drinking grammas). Speaking of such things (not that I know where that last bit came from), but did you know that the foam on top of a beer is called the "head"? We were playing this battle of the sexes card game last night and nick teased me unmercifully for not knowing that. Am I really that stupid? Is this something a good, never drank a drop mormon should know? Was this mentioned at some point in a famous piece of literature and it flew right over my head? And last but not least - if you did know the answer - tell me this - where did such a thing originate from - it makes no sense. Okay, you can tell I'm tired and need to sleep. Love your kids and while I was jesting about the whole "hate" thing - still totally jealous - lots of love - bb
