Pattern buttons--a good school day

We had a great day on Wednesday. For school, Miriam is practicing patterns. Thanks to my Dad who gave me hundreds of dollars worth of school materials including a ton of math manipulatives, despite not thinking highly of homeschooling (though not in a "hurt my child" sort of a way, just a "why bother" sort of a way), we were able to practice making patterns with cool buttons and then threading the buttons onto string. My children LOVED it. Including Emeline. What a relief.

I'm not sure why she is chewing on her shirt, but she was SO adorable in all her fierce concentration and chubby hands.

Oh, this picture is just to show you that the tree is producing lots of leaves. My kids are incredibly excited for the Yankee Peddler to come.

Cowen made all of his patterns out of blue buttons and would only use the blue thread. Predictable. Isn't his shirt cute! My favorite thing of his new "school" clothes.

Miriam made two necklaces. Predictable. I need more ribbon that has wire--it sure looks cute in her hair with no effort on my part.

More concentrating.

He's just so darn cute . . . when I let him in the house. :) Oh yeah, he's modeling the blue "thing" he made to hang on his belt loops. According to Cowen, those are his "riding pants" for when Grandpa lets him "borrow" Fazhel and go riding. It's time to get that kid out to Grandpa's again--if I'm not careful he might go into some sort of strange horse withdrawal.

She's cute. Notice the pink skirt. At one point that day she had on a Cinderella dress with the pink skirt over top and a veil made out of batting plus a sash. Then she waltzed around looking tragic and talking in resigned tones about her "stepmother."

LOL! I am not surprised at your dad. What a cool dad though, eh?
Looks like the kids are doing really well! There's SO many leaves on the tree.

Andrea,
I think my kids would love Miriam. They prize imaginative kids and love to invent stories and games to pretend.
I love the curtains. That's what I am really on here to say. That is some dang cute material!

I can see the days until your baby is due...but what is the due date-ish? I really don't want to count ahead!

Kelly, the baby is due Dec. 25. But I told him he would arrive on Dec. 14. We'll see how obedient he is. (Cowen was ten days early with a little help from castor oil.)

Andrea -
What is the story behind the tree? What is it for? It's way cool! Who says you aren't creative and crafty!? :-)
