This is me riding with Cowen on Fazhel. Don't get the wrong idea--I know nothing about horses, except that Fazhel is safe for infants, geriatrics, and simpletons. Oh, and pregnant women. Cowen was mad that I insisted on a ride. He prefers to ride by himself.
Don't my parents have an incredible view!
My parent's rainbow.
I thought this picture was sweet (all pics were taken by Timothy) of my little brother with his baby.
The wagon ride at Apple Days. The horses were Clydesdales for those of you who care *Megan*.
Family picture.
Nope. She got to the top, sat, grinned this huge grin, charmed all the people watching, and then went down by herself. Her face was priceless. She looked absolutely terrified. Then she went down two or three more times by herself and was mad when we took her off.
Miriam and Emeline climbing, Cowen about to go down on his stomach.
Wyatt helping Hailey turn the apple press to make cider.
Cowen and Timothy were both entranced by the steam engine thingy. Timothy took about sixty pictures of it. I won't be posting all of them. Cowen's the kid in the orange shirt.
Emeline and Cassidy. While my children are obviously the cutest in the family (and world)--you have to love Cass's dimples.
Don't worry, Emeline. You have red hair.
Even though Cowen was going to Grandpa's that afternoon to ride horses--he still had to ride "Rain" (think Spirit).
After they said that my kids were really confident riders for their age. Hmm. Thanks, Grandpa.
Unlike Cowen, Miriam hoarded her tickets for more worthwhile causes.
They let all sorts of weirdos into Apple Days.
The steam engine thingy. I couldn't help posting this one--so very picturesque.
As for today (Monday), I went to Megan's house for our annual bottling peaches day. We did Megan's peaches first and they all turned out perfectly. We did mine second and one bottle broke in each batch for a total of five broken bottles. That's a whole lot of wasted peaches. :( I'm just grateful that my big sis and Mom felt sorry for me and gave me some of their peaches and bottles to help cover the losses. Still--what a weird thing to have happen.
I'll refrain from mentioning getting up at 2:00 am this morning with a daughter completely covered in poo, and spending the wee hours changing sheets and giving a bath. Then, the same daughter had a major poo accident at Megan's house (think runny and all down her legs). Fortunately, no poo got on any of Megan's things (I swear Megan cringes when she hears we're coming), but I found myself bathing the same child again. Sometimes the delights of parenting are hidden deep beneath the lack of sleep and disgustingness of parenting. I think the poor kid has a minor stomach bug, which is compounding her normal potty trauma. Whatever is going on--it is really traumatizing her extremely sensitive skin, making walking a bit painful. Poor girl.
Also, my father-in-law came over tonight to evaluate the kids' windows downstairs and start making an action plan for getting the rooms downstairs finished before Baby B arrives. Finally--a start is really being made. YEAH!!!!

Loved this post! It's like I was there on your weekend. How fun. The kids were all smiles. Makes it so worth while.
That sucks about your peaches. Truly odd that one bottle out of each batch would break.
Hope you have a really great week!
P.S. I must say you are a brave woman riding a horse while pregnant. I was pregnant with my first, when I was on a run away horse. (7 months along----so painful!!!) I was SO scared, that I have never been on a horse since. : (
the fall festival looked like lots of fun - too bad we missed this year - sorry to hear about more poo. That is sad, sad, sad.
Can I get the hard copy of the one with Wyatt and Cassidy???
