Baby and I had another ultrasound this morning (still covered by insurance--yeah!), and baby has gained about a pound. Perfect. I could also see hair on his head. Nobody ask me if it was red--that is the lamest joke around.
I asked Dr. Swift about his views on VBAC's as I've been dithering of late about getting one. Megan scared me, as usual, with her medical horror stories. Dr. Swift said he had one patient insist on a VBAC despite his recommendation for a c-section, and she ruptured. They got the baby out in 8 minutes--but baby was already damaged.
Thanks for the story, Dr. Swift.
Actually, his advice to me was to not make any decisions yet. He doesn't like to do VBAC's if the patient goes into her 39th week without going into labor. So . . . I guess I won't be making a decision as of yet. I tend to do what I am told by Dr. Swift. He's saved my life a few times--you know how it is.

so - my midwife will do VBACs but only if you go into labor by 40th week - and you have to go into it on your own. She thinks that's a good sign that your body says it's okay. I - who have never had a single contraction in my life - even when my water broke - only had c-sections...polly's husband Alma is discouraged - but for our c-sections our bloodline should have ended two generations ago (both grandmothers and mom) - thus we must have tainted genes that should have been exterminated years ago...love that man. Hope you go into labor...just listen to your doctor...alrighty - call if you need to - bb
I have never heard of a VBAC. What is that??
Sounds like you have a great relationship with your doctor. Take care to heed whatever advice he gives you. Wish I had that with my doctor. That's a whole other story.
Anyway.....very happy about your news that baby is growing!
