Houston, We Have Dry Wall

Yesterday, Dad (mine) and Dad (Tim's), and Wyatt came over to help drywall. On Friday, Timothy called a friend and they moved the filing cabinet and freezer into the under-the-porch space. Then Timothy moved his tool cabinet thing. It made a world of difference. It made it seem like the family room would have enough space to make this all worthwhile.

Timothy then wired the whole room for surround-sound or something male like that. There is a good bit of contention over whether the family room is an entertainment room (ridiculous--when we watch a movie once a month or so) or the school room (brilliant--can't you just picture some chalkboard paint and a bulletin board to showcase great work?).

Should I cut Miriam's hair since she has started chewing it into nasty little knots that then break off when I try to comb them out? She's also started to chew her nails. The girl has to have something in her mouth at all times.

More of the "before" pictures.

I was mad when Timothy insisted we keep that monstrously huge desk when his firm was getting rid of it because it is roughly the size of the room. However, Timothy had the brilliant idea of taking out the nasty weird shelf thing in the storage shed and put this desk in the shed. Good thinking! He does have the odd good idea . . ..

More "before."

I know Polly explained to me how to get my pictures in the right order--but I haven't had time to learn yet. Therefore, this picture is in entirely the wrong spot.

At the end of the drywall segment of this post, I am going to pat myself on the back a little about the cleaning I did last night--despite my extreme tiredness. Notice--the dishes are done. Yes, Mom, even if they aren't dried they are still "done." At least at my house. You are looking at the sum total of counter space I have. Take a moment to pity me.

Notice the dining room is clean, there is nothing on the table, and the floor is mopped!!!

I don't know why this is sideways--but notice that I have WALLS!!!!

That's my little brother, Wyatt. Periodically he's useful. Usually when I want something good to eat. He made me this salmon dinner once--absolutely divine. Then there was this steak and hash brown dinner--way better than any steak dinner I've had at a restaurant. He's a great cook, but here he's being put to a different use.

My favorite part of the drywall--no more little cracks and crevices and dark places above my head for nasty little spiders to hide. YEAH!!!

My dad. Tim's dad had already left by the time I broke out the camera.

This is the bathroom floor Timothy swept and mopped for me because I didn't have time to clean everything and grade before midnight last night. Thank you, Sweetie!!!

The poof has a new home for the duration. I am not agile enough to walk on top of it like the rest of the family.

Notice the folded laundry!! I folded it the same day I washed it. I don't think that has happened in . . . well, a long, long time. Too bad I only got half done. Tomorrow is another day.

The floor is vacuumed and every toy picked up. Don't notice the dust on the piano. Like I said, tomorrow is another day.

Another clean floor. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see it.
