The Downstairs in all its Glory

That's Timothy putting things away in the new, lovely closet. Currently, some of Timothy's things are in that closet. Ahem. That's what Timothy is working on today--clearing his stuff out of my store room and closet and putting it elsewhere. Yes, I was taught as a child to share. However, for the past few months (it seems like forever), I haven't been able to get to my flour bucket/canned goods/sugar bucket. Tim's camping gear has been banished.
Sometimes the males of the species make me shake my head and/or laugh. In this case it is a touch of both. The above picture is one of the surround sound speakers Timothy put in. In our tiny basement. When neither of us watch much TV. And the kids will be sleeping in the rooms right by us when we do. When I hate loud things so much I refuse to attend movie theaters, fireworks, concerts, sporting events--anything loud. But--it made him really happy to put it all in so, whatever.
That's the little box on the wall that hides a dizzying array of technical stuff that scares me. Just teach me where to hook in my Karaoke machine. That's all I want to know.
This is the picture Timothy didn't want me to post. Last night, there was nothing in the family room. It had been vacuumed and cleaned and everything was completely done. This is this morning. Sometimes, to truly organize your home, you have to pull it apart a little first.
My closet. And all those blue tubs? You guessed it--hand-me-down clothes. The legacy continues.
Tim's closet. Except for the freezer and filing cabinet--he can do with it what he will.
Timothy's other closet. It is inside the furnace room/space. He even hung up a closet bar to hang his sleeping bags on. Apparently you aren't supposed to store your sleeping bags rolled up. I can't remember why. Regardless--it is all out of my store room. Cue angels singing.
Miriam's and Emeline's very pink room. Although I wouldn't do it this dark pink again--the girls love it and it isn't bad, so overall I'm pleased.
Emeline's bed. Notice the unpainted board attached to her cute white bed. That's what her loving father put on after the fourth time she fell out of bed onto her noggin. I love how handy he is.
Miriam's bed.
The white closet door that I love.
All the Sunday clothes that don't fit anyone currently that were ALL stuffed into Eli's closet for the past aggravating months. Finally, a little breathing room for me and the clothes. I have plans for that shelf. I LOVE all my new storage space.
Cowen's blue and brown room. By far everyone's favorite amongst the people who have seen my house. I love the colors.
His closet. Just loving the new storage space again.
His wall--I was trying to give you a good shot of the colors, but I'm not sure I captured it well.
Emeline on Cowen's bed.
The kids all helped me organize their rooms this morning. Decide what went in bedrooms, what stayed on the toy shelf in Eli's room. Of course, they wanted everything in their rooms, but I nixed that idea. Still, despite feeling completely wiped out and more than a little sore/tender right now--I'm very pleased with this morning's labors. No, Cowen doesn't get the poof in his room forever, but he is sure loving having it right now.
This has nothing to do with my house, but I wanted to share the joy of a blast from the past. This is the dress all the little girls wore at Kami's wedding. Isn't it beautiful?! Kami's wedding was so lovely--and despite having to travel to that most miserable of places, Arizona, I didn't think it was too hot. Thank you for getting married in November.
Emeline Sunday morning.
And I end this absurdly long post (be grateful Kammers, I think you're the only one who cares) with this picture of my dearly beloved weirdo. I'm not sure why he put his shirt on his legs and ran around like that for twenty minutes. It was sure funny though.

NICE!!!!
Thanks for the tour! That looks great!
I had to laugh about the sounds around thing. It sure will be nice when the kids are teenagers though and have lots MORE teenagers over to watch TV with. : D

Please tell me why one is not suppose to store their sleeping bags rolled up??? We have always. Neat and tight in their own little bag thing a ma bobs that they come in. I have them that way, so they are quick to grab with our 72 hr kits in case of an emergency.

Now I am worried that I am ruining all our sleeping bags. Maybe it's because they are suppose to air out after a camp or something. I do that. For about a week afterwards. Then I roll them up. Please ask Timothy if that is okay. Thanks!

It looks great Ands. The pink is wow, but I think in real life it would look better. Not saying it looks bad, it's just the railing and beds look pink in those pictures too, so obviously it's not quite doing it justice. Also I love Cowen's room. Your right, it's perfect!

polly told me to tell you that she loves the colors downstairs (I'm at her house) - oh - sorry...correction - she likes cowen's room...she's not into pink bedrooms (hey, I thought redheads avoid pink - complexion issues - hmmm) alrighty - jealous of your storage space...enjoy organizing...and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with tubs of clothes to be passed down...bye - bb

Congrats Andrea! I love having everything organized and in its place. Ahh.

The kids rooms turned out so great! I bet they love it too. Your children are so cute and seem like such good friends.

As always, you inspire me!
