Miriam's Pajamas
Watching Miriam open her Nutcracker pajamas was really the highlight of Christmas for me. First, she hugged it and hugged it while she watched some of her other cousins open their pajamas (we go in birth order and there were 16 kids at Grandma's this Christmas Eve). Then she put on the nightgown and danced around--much twirling was involved. Then she came over to me and asked me who had bought the nightgown for her. I told her it was Dad and me and she gave me a huge hug and said, "I am glad you love me so much!"
Mom had hemmed the nightgown for me, but it was still a little long so she had to hem it a little more. While Miriam was waiting for it to be fixed, she said to me, "Can I have the same gown next year?" Later she asked me, "Do you think my gown will still fit me next year?" She was very concerned. I explained that Grandma hadn't cut anything off, she'd just rolled it up. When Miriam grew we could just unroll it for her and it would still fit. Miriam thought about that and said, "That's very clever."
In all--watching her revel in her nightgown made every second I spent searching for the perfect nightgown worth it. It was Christmas magic.

Awwww. That is the sweetest little girl you have. What a beautiful and gracious thing for her to say. So happy that you were able to find that for her.
You truly DO love her.. : D
