I hope you're feeling in the Christmas spirit because here's all these great pictures I took on Christmas day that I am just now getting around to posting. Hey, I've been busy.
First picture is my children at the table where they raced to after grabbing their stockings off the couch. I love that time during Christmas morning--the thrill of going through the stocking, the excitement of knowing the best is yet to come.
Cowen got a remote control amphibious car from Santa. He was pretty excited.
Eli wasn't really that excited about any of it. The other kids, however, were thrilled to help him open his presents and show him all his new loot.
Will my kids stop everything they are doing to read their Christmas books even with numerous presents still wrapped and waiting? Yes, they will! Especially if it is a DK Castles and Knights book.
Emeline got a doll and backpack. That was a winner. When Grandma Young gave her a boy doll later in the day I think her joy was complete. She loves them and has to sleep with both of them. Always.
Miriam received a make-up kit. I'm not sure what Santa was thinking. I'm writing him a little note for future reference. While Miriam was ENTRANCED by her gift--Mom was less thrilled by the make-up on the poof, on the walls, etc. Fortunately, all the make-up was used up in approximately two days.
Emeline with her Christmas book.
Emeline's Christmas book. Notice, the author even got her name right. Sweet.
Timothy's favorite present. Oh wait, I meant Cowen's favorite present that Timothy loves to play with. It was a huge hit on Christmas and an even bigger hit at Aunt Megan's with all the grandkids and Uncle Wyatt. Uncle Wyatt tried some snazzy behind his back, under his leg, running, and leaping shots. He missed, mostly, but he was hilarious to watch. Just so you know--the game works much better than you'd expect.
Great-grandma Frances with her newest great-grandchild--Eli. She's amazing. And Southern. From Charleston, South Carolina, in fact. I think that's pretty snazzy.
Aunt Amelia napping with Eli. Aww.
So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We're starting school tomorrow and trying to get back to our regular routine. Wish me luck!
PS--For those of you who are anxiously awaiting our next novel, Kayli sent me this dark and disturbing letter and so I had to write one back. Who knows where this will lead.
