Date Night Friday

Timothy and I made it to the temple tonight--thanks to Lindsay. She came and watched the kids. She said they were good despite Emeline's break-down because Lindsay put the wrong toothpaste on her toothbrush and despite Miriam's break-down because Lindsay put the wrong diaper on Eli. And despite the horrific screaming of Emeline long after Lindsay thought everyone was asleep. Emeline had managed to get her legs into the wrong leg holes in her pajamas and had another bit of a break-down. Thanks again, Lindsay. I'm sure you're anxious to come back!!!

When we got home Lindsay wasn't upstairs. I wandered downstairs and found her crying on the couch. No, my kids weren't that bad. She was watching Crazy in Alabama for the first time. Since it is my all time favorite movie, I sat down and watched the last ten minutes with her--and listened to her cry through the whole thing. I would say she was experiencing extreme finals week exhaustion, except I cry through the whole thing every time I watch it and I've seen it . . . a number of times.

Temple, good. Babysitter, awesome. Civil rights movie, my favorite kind. My bed--calling my name.

What a lovely comment. As the author of book and movie, let me assure you, your post made my day.
