Hey Jude

You know you're going to have a good day when it starts with your husband singing a fantastic rendition of "Hey Jude" at the breakfast table. Since my kids were more than a little startled by the song, I had to find it on youtube (bless youtube) and dance with them until I had them all, excepting Eli, singing along. Emeline sounds hilarious when she sings "na na na hey Jude." Then, since we were exploring culture, we danced to Eli's Coming and then A Horse With No Name. Good times.

My day continued to be lovely even when we turned off the Beatles. I went to a Relief Society social and the guest speaker was awesome. She talked about motherhood and Eve and the parallels between Eve in the garden of Eden and Christ in the garden of Gethsemene (sp??). She had some interesting things to say and she made me chuckle--thoroughly enjoyable.

After the luncheon I got my hair cut. YEAH. It was so ridiculously long. Like three inches. It was totally out of control. Love the new do. Timothy even told me it looked "fantastic" without being prompted. Hmm. I felt very loving all of a sudden after that nice compliment.

After the haircut I went to a beauty store and bought some cheap clear nail polish. I used to have beautiful hands with perfectly manicured nails (my own--not fake) all the time. Then I had a child. Then I had more children. Due to having all four children I no longer have a trim waistline. Between the two, I definitely thought it would be easier to have pretty hands again versus a waistline so I bought some nail polish as a confidence booster and spent the evening (after the children were put to bed) fancying up my nails and *gasp* pushing back my cuticles. I can't remember the last time I took time to do that. The results make me feel exactly how they were supposed to make me feel--a little prettier.

Now I'm going to go snuggle in next to my husband. He'll probably even get a kiss or two for the nice compliment he paid me earlier. Besides, he's all dirty from working in the yard all day. Not quite as irresistable as when he comes home filthy and sweaty from a bike ride, but still very yummy.

I destroyed my nails and nail beds, as a kid. I had way too many issues I think. : S Wish I could even attempt to do something nice with them. I envy all my sisters who sport the well manicured hand that I envisioned as I read your past..er post. You are so lucky. : D

That was fun.

I love Hey Jude. It makes me think of Dad. Have you ever seen the Veggie Tales Ballad of Little Joe. Watch it. Hear the Hey Jude quip. Laugh. It's good.
