More pics

Today it rained. Thank heavens. My house has been SO INSANELY hot because the weather spiked and the swamp cooler wasn't hooked up. Timothy's been working on that the past two nights. When I felt the first lovely drops I sent the kids outside. It is so rare for it to be rainy and warm in Utah.

We had two umbrellas, so I gave those to Miriam and Cowen. Cowen didn't really know how to use his. Then he broke them both. When I asked him what happened he said, "I whacked them too hard on the ground." I asked him why he was hitting them at all and he just shrugged. I could just see his little boy brain dismissing me as ignorant. Isn't the purpose of EVERYTHING to hit or be hit???

The rain was pretty awesome. It even hailed for a little while.
I thought I should post this picture for Lindsay Ann's benefit. Doesn't it look nice? The garden all planted, the yard nicely trimmed. How long do you think it will last??? Stop laughing. I have some serious good intentions this spring.
Emeline in the rain.
Timothy wanted to document the nasty scratch he got from a rose thorn. He was bleeding all over the place.
Tickling Emeline. I can't resist little girls in Saturday night curlers. Notice she's in yellow from head to toe. That's how I convince her to let me put curlers in her hair--she gets a yellow scarf (bandana, but scarf sounds prettier). She's still a yellow fanatic.

Yep, you're adorable.
I just wanted to document Eli's love of sucking on his two fingers. He's so darn cute.
Miriam put Emeline up there and then left. Let's just say she was stuck up there for longer than I want to admit. In my defense, she wasn't crying . . . at least by the time I realized she was missing and went looking.

Remember when I got my pictures taken in Provo. On the way home we passed a well-attended farmer's market. As we drove by Timothy said, "There's the Hippie festival. Hippies all of them." Then in a sneering sort of voice, "They even smell like hippies." Thank you, 1960s Republican weirdo. (He was joking, for those of you who don't know him well and wondered.)

The other night Timothy was playing with Cowen and Miriam. Then he tired of playing with them and retreated to his room. The children didn't really get that the game was over and spent the next little while trying to lure him back out. Miriam said, "Mr. Spooky, we're ready to fight. We have a drink for you. Are you thirsty?"

Cowen, in the distant background, yelled aggressively, "And you gonna die from it!" Not so subtle, is my dear Cowen.

Tonight, I should be doing any number of things, but I'm tired. So, I probably won't do anything useful at all. I'm okay with that. I just wish the next Ranger Apprentice book was out or a new Megan Whalen Turner available. I'm sure I can munge along without them. Maybe.

Oh man!!! Can I just tell you how jealous and covetous I feel right now???

Heat? Rain? Garden planted? I am SO jealous!!!!

Oh, and if I lived closer, I would SO be at that farmer's market too!!!! I guess I would be one of the "hippies", eh?

Yellow is the favorite color of my sister too. What's up with that? She even had yellow at her second wedding. She said she should of had it at her first wedding....it's her lucky color. : D

ok I forgot how funny you are! I haven't read this semester... blogs that is... but guess what Kaitlynn got Jesse for his birthday?...Ranger's Apprentice #6-She ordered it from Australia...She gave ME #5 for Christmas (yah) We have been Ranger fans for a long time, and The Thief is my very very very favorite book and everytime I read it, it gets better, and I don't know why because I know what will happen. How do you get skill like that? Leslie
