Funny ride home

We just returned from a WELCOME BACK LINDSAY ANN (I mean, congrats on passing your air traffic controller test, Wyatt) barbecue. The food was good, the company was fabulous, and the ride home was hilarious.

Timothy was being weird.

He kept saying things like, "I wish my head was a beach ball so people could see me better," or pretending to shift into a fast gear--making the kids laugh like lunatics.

At one point Timothy coached the children on the best way to approach life. "That sounds like a lot of work. Let's not do it."

Miriam said, "My leg hurts," to which Timothy replied, "So does my leg. Maybe it's because I have your leg and you have mine. Maybe we switched them and that's why it hurts." Then he proceeded to grab his leg and exclaim things like, "Why do I have this little girl leg?" And, "Now when I kick the soccer ball my foot will go right over the ball!"

Miriam got more and more exasperated and said, "Daddy, you have your leg and I have my leg!" And shortly after that, "You're not making any sense." To which Dad said, "I might be making incense." Miriam, thoroughly irritated, "I'm making incense--you're making outsense!"

Miriam: "Dad, you don't get hurt at the same time as other people!"
Timothy: "I wish that were true, then I'd never have an owie."

Miriam: "What's a weekend?"
Timothy: "The days at the end of the week."
Mom: "Saturday and Sunday."
Dad: "Which doesn't make any sense because Sunday is also the first day of the week. It should really be the weekend-beginning."

To preface this last part--Gus is my car. We were almost to our house and Cowen pipes up, "HI, GUS!" And then a second later in a slightly deeper voice, "Hi, Cowen!"

Hilarious.

I completely skipped over the part where Miriam told Timothy to stop repeating everything she said. Oh, Miriam. Oh, oh, Miriam. Someday you will learn about boys (and men). Never add fuel to the fire like that.
