Miriam

My best part of yesterday took place after supper. The two oldest have to clear the table after every meal. That night, Miriam was allowed to finish a movie after the table was cleared so she was trying to hurry those of us still at the table. When she asked me if I was done with my cup I said "no" in a snooty, British (sort of) accent and told her she could take something else. Delighted, she was instantly in character. When she returned in perfect maid fashion for something else, I said, "Remove these at once, Winifred!"

Miriam took whatever it was to the kitchen and I heard her say, very quietly--like she was feeling out the sound of it--"Winifred." Followed by soft giggling. Then again, "Winifred." More giggling.

Oh, she makes me laugh!
