A Few Things

My new curtains. THANK YOU, BECKIE!!! The vertical curtain is lined with heavy duty flannel to keep out the heat. The sun bakes me in my kitchen. No shade. No blinds. Just focused heat on my two inches of counter top. So unpleasant. So far, the curtains have made a huge difference! (Except when my husband pulls it up for more light. Sigh.)
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. There is a dog in my house. I swore that would never happen, but poor Wilson was . . . altered . . . and he wasn't supposed to get wet for two weeks. Due to global weirding, it has been a crazy wet spring and rained the past few days. Not little rains. Full on downpours. So, I had to buy a crate for Wilson so he could come in my house. I must admit, after a day or so we all felt bad for Mr. Wilson, so we let him wander around the kitchen periodically. Then I mopped. And saw all the dog hair. And didn't feel sorry for him anymore. We love you, Wilson, but we love you outside.
I wish I had taken a picture of this when Miriam first brought it home. A few months ago, Miriam was in an art class. They made lots of cool things, but this was by far my favorite. I wanted to keep it forever, but we don't have the room and the eyes and hair were already falling off. Sigh. It is our family. Or rather, a representation of our family. I love it.
Kami told me that making yogurt was easy, and she was right. Since Kami gave us granola as a present and my hubby begged and pleaded for me to make it, we've sort of shifted our breakfast habits. We now eat a whole lot of homemade granola and yogurt and fruit smoothies. Yummy!!
I tried having one of my children help hold the towel during the straining process. Not a good idea. An elastic around the towel worked much better.

We love homemade yogurt so much I had to go buy an official yogurt container for my fridge. With a big bowl of yogurt and a big bowl of bran muffin batter in the fridge, I was running out of room and bowls!
