The Wounds

Any great reunion includes great wounds. Of the three major wounds that took place during reunion week 2011, two happened to my children. Neither wound was major, though still the worst wounds my kids have had (so far).
See--once it stopped hurting so much, he was fine.
No, he did not incur the wound from a fist fight. I was trying to take a pic of the 7 stitches, but he wasn't cooperating.
That's better. He fell against something harder than his head at the South Ogden splash pad (a park with water toys).
I took Cowen to the after hours clinic on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning was spent at the regular hours clinic. Cowen smashed Miriam's finger in the door. Like in most explanations given by children, the details were fuzzy.
The orthopedic surgeon thought there was a very small fracture under the nail, but the treatment was the same as if there was no fracture--a splint and instructions to keep the nail on the bed as long as possible. Miriam did great after she was assured nobody was going to take the nail off.

Good times.
