New Job

Timothy got a new job!!!  O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

He is definitely a bonny boy.  The pay increase is . . . significant.  He was originally looking for a different job in the hopes that he could negotiate a pay raise with the company where he is currently employed.  He has loved his job but he wanted to make up some of the $ difference now that I'm no longer teaching for WSU.  But, as is often the case, the best laid plans are not always what happens.

He got an interview at a company that basically told him they wanted him at the interview because he is an ACCOUNTANT.  Funny how his accounting experience keeps landing him programming jobs.  Apparently this IT department supports a lot of finance programs for the company, and they want Timothy because he will have a much clearer idea of what finance people want their programs to do.

Timothy is pretty excited because not only will this job be more money, but the IT guys support a lot of different programs so he will get more experience and build his resume faster.  His current job only works with one programming language.  (I'm probably messing up my programming lingo, but I'm trying here.)

So, good news.  :)

In other news, Eli is smart.  For breakfast yesterday we had 9 grain hot cereal and scrambled eggs.  I didn't put vegetables in the eggs because we were in a hurry so Eli wanted all of them.  When I didn't give him a third helping he was really upset.

After breakfast we went on a long hike (behind the Bountiful temple--beautiful), and my older kids had no problem.  They are really fantastic hikers this season.  Eli . . . not so much.  On the way home I said, "You older kids are awesome hikers!!  If we whip Eli into shape we can do some amazing hikes this season!"

To which Eli replied, "Then you should give me more scrambled eggs in the morning."

He's quick.  Just not on the trails.  :)

That's sooooo great!!! I'm so happy for you! Now you can save up to come to Switzerland!!!! ;)

Talmage also has a bit of a short steam for hiking. Did that make sense? Anyway, you know what I mean. But we found a geocache today and did some pretty significant bushwacking. It was fun.

Congratulations Tim on your new job! That is really cool. And a pay raise?!? Can't beat that. Good luck!

Eli, you crack me up! That was and excellent response back to your stingy-with-the-scrambled-eggs mother of yours.
