Some pics of Harriet's bumps

She was fairly happy throughout her sickness--she just slept more and got irritated by her siblings a little faster.  Can't blame her.
You can see the bumps and red on her hands and arm.  They were also all over her feet and ankles and around the diaper area, plus she had one really big sore in her mouth.
 Beautiful with or without spots.
You can see how her lip pokes out on one side--that's from the really huge sore in her mouth.
I actually think Eli was the sickest.  He had the highest fever and slept or cried for two days.  He still isn't 100%, none of the kids are, but it is just taking him awhile to bounce back.
Emeline was the last to take sick.  She waited until Wed.  The amazing thing about Emeline is that her skin color really does tell you what is going on with her.  When she feels sick to her stomach she literally turns green.  It helps in getting her a throw-up bucket in time.  With this sickness she has been so, so pale.  Is that what is meant when authors write about "pallor"?  I always thought so, but I also thought it was mostly hyperbole like turning green with envy or whatnot.  Emeline has proved me wrong.  You can look as pale as death--you really can.
Cowen was strange.  He was fine on Monday, threw up 4 times on Tuesday and slept most of the day, and was rarin' to go again on Wednesday morning.  I have really enjoyed being quarantined--but Cowen's energy levels have skyrocketed without our normal hikes/activities to keep him busy.  If I had a dime for every time I said, "Go downstairs or OUTSIDE!"  Ha.
Julie saved the day/week!  I was sick on Sunday and Monday so Julie brought over a big pot of chicken soup on Monday morning and that is what we ate for lunch and dinner.  My kids raved about it and told me to get the recipe (Julie, I need your recipe!) and it gave me a day to just lay around with all the other sickos laying around.  By Tuesday I felt worlds better and could take care of my kiddos and everything else like normal.  That extra day of rest made all the difference.

Miriam never got as sick as the rest so I called her Uncle Doc (Derek) and he gave the a-ok for her to go to day camp.  She went today and came home full of energy and by 7:30 she could barely move and told me her head was aching and all her body hurt.  What do you expect when you ride a bmx course for the first time, rock-wall climb, and use how many other muscles you normally don't??  The headache is probably a bit of dehydration. The camp she went to had no shade and it was hot today.  She was so glad I let her go, though.

I think in another day or so we'll all be back to our normal selves!  I will miss quarantine a little bit though, life is so much slower-paced when you can't go anywhere.  It almost felt like a vacation in some ways.  Maybe that is a sign I need to simplify a little bit.  On the other hand, I can't wait for Monday's hike as it seems like taking a week off hiking is a terrible waste.  :)
