The nursery is finally done!!!! Now I just need to add a baby to the pics. :) I decided, after much reflection, that I needed more color in this room--and one cute quilt didn't do the trick. I painted the walls turquoise.
Timothy did the ceiling. I know, I know, we have a deal where he doesn't have to help with my painting projects but I got the feeling he didn't want me standing on a chair for several hours. Something about my being 8 months pregnant or something. He's a good guy. I'm just so glad he did it because it turned out waaaayyy better than I could have done. I am in love with that ceiling!!
Timothy also stapled the fabric onto the art canvases for the wall decoration. I like that adds some more orange to the mix.
My MIL, Beckie, made the valances. She was extra kind because I gave her fabric and she made the first valances and I called her and said they were all wrong so she came and got more fabric to make them bunchier and shortened them. Perfection. She also took my children twice so I could have some time alone. She's a sweetheart and I am so grateful.
Have you noticed on pinterest how all the nurseries look perfect but not actually like people live in them? Nurseries with no diapers, for example. This room does not have that problem. Baby boy only gets this corner because across the room are the two "coat closets" and the actual closet is used for everyone's Sunday clothes and the vacuum. Plus, the dirty clothes hamper indicates that we actually wear clothes and the diapers under the crib indicate that my children do, in fact, wear diapers.
The goal in life is to combine the "real" with the adorable. I think this room nails it. I absolutely love everything about it. Let there be color!!

That turned out really really cute! I didn't know if I would like orange stripes on the ceiling, (Beckie described the room to us) but I really do. Very cute! Now, what are you naming that baby?
Love the ceiling!
SO cute! Turned out fantastic! Well done!
Wow, that ceiling WAS worth the wait! I love it! And I love the wall color too. Good job! I also appreciate the diapers under the crib :)
i love the stripes! i've been debating doing that in one of the kid's rooms because there is sooo much white in the house! you might have just helped me make my mind up.
Love the colors! What a fun room! And I thought I was wild with color. It closely resembles my nursery, but without the fun ceiling--my hubbie isn't as accommodating as yours, apparently. :) Good luck with the baby!
