I thought I should write a little about what is actually going on around here, instead of just posting pictures. We are back into the swing of school and having a grand time rockhounding and studying the Middle Ages. Cowen and Emeline are taking piano this year so there has been lots of note plunking taking place. Miriam added French to her studies so we get to hear her practice two languages every day. I'm used to hearing her Spanish accent but French is so swooshy. I didn't realize. Fun, fun.
I've been having such a good time lately. I feel great, my baby is eight months old, and it is October. I recently went out on the town with some girlfriends and we chatted about a wide variety of topics. At one point one said, "Did you like Deerskin?" and I said, "No," and the other lady said, "No," and I realized that everyone there had read it and were ready to discuss. Awesome. We talked about gender and roles and authority and presiding and stewardships and all the things that make some of my sisters roll their eyes and refuse to talk to me about anything but movies. :) It was a lovely evening.
The YW president and I had been working on some collaborative things with the YW and the RS, and then the YW presidency was released and the new presidency isn't really excited about those plans. That is pretty disappointing.
The kids are participating in their one-day-a-week charter school program and are loving it. They are taking things like karate and pottery and science lab and fun in the outdoors. It is a good opportunity for them.
Timothy is hot. And wonderful. And today is Friday--DATE NIGHT FRIDAY NIGHT. Yahoo!! I'm going to go find my mascara (it disappeared randomly) and put on a movie for the kids while I whip up some husband-pleasing fajitas and fold some laundry. It has been a completely chilled-out day and those are nice to have now and again.
Happy Friday, everyone.
