 Back in September, Emeline turned 9.  I still can't believe it.  My kids are growing up so fast!!  We celebrated on September 23--I don't remember why.

There is something everyone probably already knows about Emeline Bea but I'm going to state it here anyway: she LOVES hedgies.  Hedgehogs are her very favorite animal and I'm pretty sure that someday she'll have her own hedgie pet.  For now, she settled for a hedgehog cake.  I made the cake, but the decorating of this one was all Timothy.  He did a great job.

 Emeline wanted a special baby doll for her birthday.  We haven't had baby dolls around this house since Miriam was four years old and a destructive force of nature.  Dolls didn't hold up.  Now that Miriam is 12, and Emeline really, really, really, really wanted one, we decided to give it another go.  Emeline takes excellent care of her doll, Clara, but I often have to lock it in my room to protect it from Oskar.  Oskar is a huge fan of the doll.  Huge.

I sure love our Emeline!!!!!  Happiest little person to have around--always cheerful, always with her nose in a book, always ready to help with Oskar and Clover.  It is fun to see her excitement about the baby on the way.  She definitely has a mother heart.  I love her so much!!!!
