Star Wars Party Activities AKA Jedi Training

Yes, Timothy made the invitation. How did you know it wasn't me??? I'm so offended.
It must be said that Timothy planned the whole party. I do not like planning parties, so I told Timothy that Cowen wanted a Star Wars party and then he did the rest.

First the boys ate cake and yoda sodas (lime sherbet and sprite) and then they opened presents. Most of the presents were Star Wars themed.
As you can tell from the above picture, Cowen was pretty exited about his gifts.
Left to right: Tyler, Anders, Ty, Greg, Cowen, Vitty

After the presents Timothy started Jedi Training. The boys had to pass all their Jedi training in order to graduate and become a Jedi. Timothy told the boys that they wouldn't get to keep their light sabers unless they passed all the training, which caused Anders no small amount of worry. He and his Uncle Tim had a chat about it.

The first part of their training required them to make their own light sabers. Cowen was desperately torn between being a good guy or being a bad guy and ended up with a two-tone light saber. The other boys managed to be more decisive.

I gently criticized Timothy for not taking any pictures of that part of the party and he said, "I couldn't take pictures of myself making light sabers because I was making light sabers." Excuses, excuses.

Following the making of the light sabers (you can see one on the floor there), the boys continued Jedi Training.

The second part of Jedi training involved hitting the storm trooper (again, capitalized??) with the nerf gun. Notice that the nerf gun is a Star Wars type weapon. Tim was all about the theme (he even bought Star Wars paper plates and stuff--something I would never have done if left to my own devices).

And yes, Timothy drew the storm trooper picture. It is pretty awesome and Cowen requested that Tim hang it in his room. No problem, young Jedi. We must give you something to shoot darts at besides your sisters.

The next part of Jedi Training was a "Droid Attack Simulation." The balloons were droids and each young Jedi cadet (?) had to hit a balloon, that Timothy threw, twice before it hit the ground.

After everyone passed that Jedi test, the young Jedi students (?) forgot the seriousness of their discipline and goofed around with the ballons. Notice Anders' expression below (he's by the door).

They all lined up for a picture after "graduation" to commemorate the moment. Graduation involved Timothy having them stand in a half-circle and Timothy saying something along the lines of, "Cowen Young, you have passed your Jedi training and you are now a true Jedi," and then handing him his light saber. The same was done for all of them. The boys thought it was awesome.

In fact, the next morning Timothy and I listened to Cowen explain to Eli (they were taking a bath) that while Cowen was a real Jedi, Eli was not, and he would have to go through training before he was a real Jedi--even though Dad was making him a light saber.
Anders attacking a balloon.
The newly graduated Jedi went out to practice their skills some more. March decided to grace us with some lovely weather just for the Jedi. Maybe somebody was using the force to help spring along.
According to Cowen (who told me this after looking at this picture), Anders was fighting Vitty and losing, so he yelled, "Can I get some help over here?" Whereupon Cowen ran over to assist him. I can't verify the veracity of the story, but I like it.
Three very cool and collected Jedi. It's like they aren't even worried about enemies, violence, and peril.
Maybe they aren't worried because Anders is with them, and he has mad Jedi skills.
In a fight, I want Ty on my side. Seriously.
Look at Cowen's face. The boy had an exceptionally great time at his party.
Ouch. According to Cowen, he "sliced Ty open." Gross.
Is Cowen running away? I don't know, but Ty looks pretty intense.
I watched Anders and Cowen chase each other around the yard and whack each other with light sabers. Cowen has a longer reach--definite advantage--but man, Anders is quick!

Attendance at this birthday celebration did not result in mortal injury to any of the participants.

May the force be with you.

That was a really awesome party. Hazel liked it a lot. I'm sure when the other kids see it, they will like it too, but they had to go to school today. Anyway, that was like a little boy's Star Wars dreams come true.
