A Small Tip

Just an FYI--if you should ever want to splatter a bunch of pork and beans on your floor--first put plastic or something on your walls. Although pork and beans clean up nicely from the floor, they adhere in a fierce manner to the walls. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

How I learned this: I was carrying a pan of goulash (my family's term for two cans of pork and beans mixed with one can of corn and one package of hot dogs sliced into bite-sized pieces--not quite the roast and potatoes dinners my mom always prepares on Sunday, but fewer dishes to be done and therefore less work . . . usually) to the table when both handles broke off the pan simultaneously, the pan crashed to the floor and splattered all the walls and floor and one of my feet.

Fortunately, it wasn't that hot but Emeline saw my foot and FREAKED out. She was screaming Mom! and crying hysterically the whole time I was washing my foot off (Tim was trying to hold and comfort her, but she was having none of it). When I emerged from the bathroom to hold her she hugged me really tight, then got off my lap to inspect my foot closely. She finally decided I was okay and went happily on her way. Sweet baby. Today she told me she loved me for the first time too--oh, sometimes they learn to say the sweetest things instead of STOP!, NO! and MINE! which are her three favorite words.

Like I was saying--cleaning the floor was not too bad, but the walls. Ugh. And double ugh.

Have you tried the "magic eraser" (target brand cheaper and just as good)...they shred pretty quickly once wet but can take anything off of anything - especially grungy kids handprints and crayons and markers...just a thought - becky
ps - have you cut your hair yet?

Glad you are okay. Was dinner wasted? Or did you manage to salvage some of it?
