Emeline found a cup the other day that Cowen left in the bathroom, and when I found her she was happily mixing drinking water in her cup that she'd gotten out of the toilet with dumping large cupfuls of toilet water all over the floor. Argh.
Emeline is a terror. I talked to Kayli on the phone yesterday and told her to stop talking about how wonderful Ethne is on her blog, because my daughter turned two a few months early (her birthday is in Sept) and is driving me NUTS! She pulls out everything she can lay her hands on and screeches at the top of her lungs if she doesn't get what she wants instantly, and is in general--a two-year old. Sigh. I'd forgotten.
In other news, I did what I never thought I would do--bought pre-made curriculum for Miriam for kindergarten. Most curriculum's are way too expensive and too much like public school. Even more importantly, I LOVE creating curriculum and since it is easy and fun for me I didn't think I would use anything I didn't make myself. But when my friend Julie called and asked me to look over the curriculum she purchased to use for her five-year old to see if I wanted to do it with her, I started thinking about it a little more. First, I'm working until October and that limits my time immeasurably. Second, I'm still a tired pregnant woman, and come Dec. there will be a new baby. If ever there was a year where I could use a little help and make things a little easier on myself (homeschooling wise, I mean), this is it.
For my homeschooling buddies, I bought A Noble Birthright: Defenders of the Title of Liberty from courageousbeings.com. I love it. It starts out with a week on Moroni and discussing why America needed to be settled, and then moves on to all the founding fathers and mothers, with project/assignment possibilities in every major discipline and also all the references/books/movies that could be used to go along with it. So--September 1, 2008, we'll jump into school with a tea party with Moroni. Sweet.

That curriculum sounds amazing! HAve fun!
Oh dear, Andrea. Now you've tempted me. My little guy is five...and starting kindergarten. And that looks soooo up his alley. I want more information on it. I wish I could hold it in my hot little hands.
