If you can't tell what you are looking at, click the picture--that might help. I'm sure you've all heard of this chore organization idea before. I've read about it in several different parenting books. Basically, I choose the five chores each child needs to get done by 9:45 am that day (we start devotional at 9:45, school at 10:00--I like structure). When they are done with each chore they can take it out of the original pocket and put it in the "done" pocket.
This is another view, but since it is sideways, it is not much help.
While I was sewing, Miriam was practicing pinning. On me.
This is the other thing that got done today. Thank you Lindsay Ann!!!! Lindsay wrote out the letters, traced them with a marker, and sewed all the edges. I just finished painting the words. I'm almost ready for the first day of school!! Oh yeah, this is our "Title of Liberty" that Moroni is going to give to Miriam on the first day of school, and we're going to hang it in the schoolroom the rest of the year.
This is a picture of my handsome husband with the shirt he received for his birthday. The cake is not decorated because this year Timothy wanted coffee cake. Yummy!
In other news, I just found out that my dear friend Becky's cancer has gotten much worse. It started out as standard thyroid cancer--easily treated and not to be worried about overmuch. Now it has spread to her lungs. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it. I can't imagine how Becky feels, just hearing the news and going through her first radiation treatment this week. Keep her very much in your prayers, please. I love you, Becky.
