Timothy Grows a Tree

For school, I needed a tree on the wall. I, of course, asked Timothy to handle that as I don't really do things that involve art of any kind. When Tim asked what exactly I wanted I was purposely vague. Timothy ALWAYS comes up with something better than what I was imagining. Still, this time, even I was completely surprised by the fabulous end result.

First, he pulled out a tape measure. That wouldn't have occurred to me.

Then he started hanging large sheets of butcher paper over the entire wall. (It never occurred to me to have such a large tree--like I said, his ideas are always FANTASTIC!!)

Then he started cutting out and taping. I helped once. Thank you, thank you.

The end result. You should have SEEN my kids' faces when they saw it the next morning. They mirrored my face when I saw it the next morning, as I went to bed before it was completely done.

Isn't that the most amazing Liberty Tree you've ever seen on a wall?? Notice the one lone leaf. Miriam earned a leaf that morning for getting all five of her chores done quickly and without whining. She's racking up the schillings to spend when the Yankee Peddler comes through. (Each leaf can be turned in for one schilling. The kids earn leaves for good behavior and good school work.)
