Kids' Bedrooms: Stage One

I didn't make it downstairs with my camera until after Timothy tore down part of Miriam's room. From this angle, it is a little hard to see, but Miriam's room used to be finished in a weird triangle with a door that was at a strange 30 degree angle. So that part you see that is open was finished straight across.

Um, there are two major reasons we call the kids' bedrooms "prison cells." Only one has anything to do with locking our kids up.

Yes, that is the original 1945 window. Yes, that is concrete on the floor.

No, Miriam doesn't have a dresser or much of anything. I like to have all the clothes in one central location. Helps streamline getting ready for the day, and pajama time.

Her closet. Sad, isn't it.

The top of her closet.

Cowen's window. The gaps at the bottom of the windows allows dirt to blow in daily. Their floors are always nasty. Since I sprayed, I find about five crickets, dead, on Cowen's floor daily. Miriam has gotten handy at killing spiders. It is an important skill in her room.

One of the inmates.

Okay, I don't know anything about construction so forgive my lack of vocabulary. However, in layman's terms, Timothy built out Miriam's room so that it would be a rectangle.

From this view, you can sort of see that there will be a little hallway there--where the doors are to Miriam's room, Cowen's room, and the bathroom on the right.

You can sort of see the triangle there if you look at the ceiling.

That good looking man with the power tool. He came with the house.

*sigh* I think renovations come with a house. It's never done is it? Always something to be done.
But, hey.....having a handy guy come with the house, definitely is a bonus! : D

Looks like it's going to be wonderful for them when he's done! :) I just love having a guy who can do things with his hands, don't you?? (and yes, I did intend for the innuendo to be in that sentence. Hah!)

WEll, congrats on the start of teh job and good luck living through it. Hopefully, it will go fast and then it won't be so bad - but you know it is painful to have a "project" to work on and never done!!!! It will be very nice for you!
