A good day

Today Lindsay Ann and Hailey and Cassidy came over for school and lunch. It was a good day. This picture is right before they left--I love it when Miriam reads to everyone.

We ended the school portion of the day with music time. We clapped out different rhythms with our hands and then with our instruments.

Cowen managed to find a sword amongst the instruments. He's talented like that.

Timothy showed him the Princess Bride swordfight on youtube the other day. The boy was in heaven.

The middle part of the school day was art. I found these little wooden cut0uts at Michaels for one dollar each. They each came with three markers that I thought would be useless as they were so small and nondescript looking. I was wrong--never judge a marker by its cover. They worked great.

More music time. Here's Cassidy banging those cymbals.

Some crazy dancing.

Lindsay Ann rockin' it.

More great dancing/instrument playing.

The first part of school was learning about how our eyes see color. We checked to see if the kids were color-blind (love library books with cool things in them), then made little things to see the world in red and green.

Cowen with his horse.

Emeline with her puppy.

Cassidy with her fish. I sort of took over her fish when she was done. Loads of fun.

Hailey with her fairy princess.

Miriam with her pegasus unicorn. I was a little hesitant deciding which girl would want the pegasus and which one the fairy, but I guessed right. Kudos to me.

Busy coloring.

I wish I'd thought to take pictures yesterday when Julie came with Ahnika and Ty. We had lots of fun with them looking through magnifying glasses.

This morning was also great because the carpet guy came and our carpet is ordered and on the way.

It's amazing how much Miriam and Emeline do not look alike.

Okay. Am I missing something here? Do you home school other children too??
