While I was trying to load my children in the van after picking up Cowen from tumbling, a young man approached and said, "Mrs. Young?"
I recognized him instantly as a former grade 11 student that I had taught, but I still can't place the name. He said that he saw me and wanted to tell me that I was one of the best high school teachers he'd had and he was grateful for me because he was ahead of all the other students, and was doing very well, in his Weber State English class because of what I taught him.
I am grateful he bothered to come and tell me. Amazing how one compliment like that makes me want to be back in the classroom. As much as I hated some aspects of teaching, I really loved being a teacher.

That is totally cool! I need to go back and tell some former teachers of mine, the same thing. Thanks for sharing.
