karaoke

I did not start the tradition of a karaoke contest at the reunions--but I certainly kept it going. You just never know what you're going to see. Like Amy in her Madonna costume. How did she get those pants on and how did she manage to move after she had them on??? Or Kami dressed all in purple singing about wearing purple and throwing purple flowers at the audience. Or Brett totally smashing Jethro during a dance number.

Karaoke Contest night is just plain exciting.

Annoyingly--Derek and Brooke's family have won the contest three reunions running. At least this year the judges couldn't decide between three numbers and drew the winner out of a hat. It's some small comfort to me that Timothy was one of three numbers between which the judges were choosing.

Basically--we were robbed!

But I'm over it.

The Latorre's sang "Running Bear" a personal favorite of mine. Loved it!

Timothy sang opera. It was intense. And funny.

There were several impromptu numbers. That's what happens when children have the opportunity to use a microphone. I can understand it--that's why I have two microphones of my own at home.

Jethro danced a solo. I can't blame him after what happened last time.

My darlings sang "Take me out to the Ballgame" and did awesome.

I'm not really sure what that's all about, but I do feel bad that I don't have a picture of Megan's pirates (the other pick for first place honors and my personal pick to win): they were the "Pirates who don't do Anything" from Veggie Tales. Youtube it if you don't know what I'm talking about. However, Megan personalized the lyrics and her kids did AWESOME!!! So much fun!!
