We're currently potty bribing, I mean potty training, Emeline. I know, I swore I wasn't going to try again, but one day I was changing a pooey diaper and decided to give it another shot. She's done much better.
The point is that when Emeline uses the potty she gets three skittles. She loves skittles. Eli also loves skittles. Whenever Emeline gets her skittles, Eli demands a skittle. In fact, whenever I walk by the door to my room (where the skittles are locked up for safe keeping), Eli demands a skittle.
Another thing you need to know is that Eli loathes getting his diaper changed. He squirms, he cries, he screams, he makes many a mean mad face. He's emphatic in his opposition to the entire process.
So, the other day I smelled a funky smell as Eli walked by so I said, "Eli, let's go change your diaper!" in a bright, happy voice. He immediately crumpled to the ground and started making mean mad sounds and faces. Then he jumped up and ran into his bedroom and laid down on the floor where I always change him. Very surprising behavior. I understood why he'd been so cooperative when I finished changing the diaper and Eli promptly ran to my door and stood waiting for his skittle.
He's no dummy.
