A Post about Puppy

I know it sounds crazy that Timothy and I got Wilson, fell in love, and decided we were most emphatically, whole-heartedly, dog people.

I know I wasn't expecting it.

But that's what happened. Furthermore, one dog didn't seem like quite enough. When I read on ksl.com about a standard poodle mixed with german shorthair pointer, I couldn't resist.

So, the kids and I went and picked up Patsy.

The cutest little bundle of pup you've ever seen.

Wilson was a little unsure at first, but he's been won over by her limitless charm.
That's Mr. Wilson, for those of you who don't remember the freaky eyes. When I brought him home, he thought I was the best thing ever and he's remained totally devoted ever since. I take him jogging, I brush him, I train him, and I love him. He's my dog.
And while Wilson tolerates the children with laudable even-temper, he's not very interactive. No fetch. No toys. No games. Not quite what we had in mind.
Not that we don't love him. I adore him. Look at the loving/happy grin he's giving me in the above picture. There is nothing wrong with being adored, and I'll take all the love and affection I can get.

Between Wilson not wanting to play fetch and me wanting Wilson to have a buddy, and my insatiable desire to create work for myself, we got a puppy.
Patsy--the poodle pointer!

Now Wilson has a friend, Timothy has a dog that likes him best, and the kids have something to torment, ahem, play with. We're all very, very happy with the new arrangements.

You can see Patsy under Tim's leg. That's her favorite place to be.

Timothy teaching Patsy to "come." The man's nuts about her. Can't blame him.

This blog isn't supposed to be a doggy blog but . . . you'll probably see some more pics of the dogs in the future. I don't think I'll be able to help myself.
