This and That

It was fun to watch Eli follow Cowen around the great outdoors.

Cowen is a good big brother. Fairly attentive and fairly kind. Plus, he tells Eli to hit him all the time. Eli is always delighted to oblige.
But really, Eli is still my baby. He's not allowed to be old enough to traipse around in the snow. He shouldn't be old enough to say "fufge" (fudge) and "thank you your welcome." (He hasn't figured out your welcome, so he tacks it on whenever he says thank you.)

All of my children created fish for school. But for Miriam, one measly piece of blue paper wasn't large enough for her fish. So she created an ocean.
Eli is so cute. I couldn't resist his sad face that he didn't have a fish, so I gave him mine. He was thrilled. And then ripped it up. Small loss to the art world.

Advent Calendar Day One: Make something for Grandma Ruth and mail her a Christmas package. The children, still in love with fish making, opted to make her fish. The best part: I let Miriam and Cowen go into the post office and buy postage and mail it themselves. I peeked in on them once through the window. They felt so grown up.

Timothy and I had yet another fruitless "what shall we name the baby" conversation last night. I repeated my top five names, he said no to all of them. He said he wanted Adelaide. I said no. He said if he didn't get Adelaide he was naming her Mountain Princess.

Grr.

You'd think with the copious amounts of names I threw his way he would like at least one. You would think that--but you would be wrong.

The bottom line: I want Harriet or Finley. He wants Adelaide. No compromise seems to be forthcoming.

Any suggestions are welcome. Unless you like the name Tawny Apple. Then feel free to keep your suggestions to yourself.

I remember my mom would send me and my sisters to the grocery store to get random things. It was fun. I dont remember how old I was, probably 8-12 but it sure made me feel old and important!
Im a fan of Mountain Princess myself...;)
