I bought the kids an art curriculum this year and so we've been doing a lot more art around here. Correction, the children have been doing a lot more art. I hate "doing art" so I don't. Because I'm an adult and nobody can force me anymore. Yay! There are some perks to adulthood.
Anyhoo--that was a strange rant. The point is, whenever the kids get the rest of their work done in a timely manner Miriam pulls down the Artistic Pursuits book, reads the next lesson to the rest of the kids, pulls out the necessary art materials, and they all do the assignment. Thank you, Miriam. My job is to ooh and ahh--and I do! My kids have all drawn and colored and created artwork that far surpasses my abilities. They get it from Timothy.
Here are some of my favorite things Cowen has created so far this year. (He's in grade 2.)
Monster.
Insect.
(Random art creating picture. Who is escaping???)
Ninjas in a fort.
Knight Bug.
Ninja.
House.
Awesome, man, awesome.

I think that his drawings are impressive. I'm even more impressed that despite not like art, you still manage to teach it better than I've seen in most schools.
