Eli Had a Birthday

Back before we had a Clover as our Christmas baby, we had another Christmas baby.  We named him Eli, and this year he turned six (although I told him he wasn't allowed to be older than four).
Eli wanted a tiger cake.  I think this would have been a cake triumph except that a certain red-haired boy who shall remain nameless (Oskar) climbed onto the counter before I woke up and ate the mouth part of the cake.  That wouldn't have been such a huge problem except that Timothy had already drawn in (cut in?) all the lines for me to follow and he was at work so he couldn't do it again.  You'll notice that the cake looks perfect except where Timothy's pattern lines were eaten.  I kind of want to do another tiger cake now to see how it would look without Oskar's help.
The important thing is that Eli LOVED his cake.  He thought it was a cake triumph.  I was glad.
Eli wanted frog eye salad and chicken legs for supper.  Yum.
 Sibling birthday excitement!
Dad wheeled in Eli's present and Eli and Cowen both went a little crazy with excitement.

Happy free-wheelin' sixth birthday, Eli.  We love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(PS We we worried that he'd be disappointed by a bike because he couldn't ride it until spring.  Ha. This winter was made for biking!  Cowen and Eli spent the next two days up at the bike park in the mountains by our house.  One morning they got up early, made themselves lunches, and cycled until noon!  Good times.)
