Memory Lane

Remember when Eli was this small?

Remember when I had to buzz Emeline's hair?
Remember when she sometimes looked like a very adorable boy?
Remember this picture?
Or this one?

Remember when you rolled your eyes in disbelief when adults said that the years just flew by?

And now we know--they weren't making it up.

They weren't making what?

And what in the world was wrong with Cowen's poor eyes?

They weren't making it UP. I left off the important word.

That was when he got the bee sting right between his eyes.

I don't remember seeing Cowen like this or this picture - that is horrible. Could he even see!!?????
Love the Emeline with red feathers though!

took me several tries to get the word verification right. I am sad.

And the cemetery is right across the street form our house on the way to the park. And it was the trend to put where the people were born and it is a gold rush era cemetery so it is super interesting and I can wander in there for hours. and that one grave that looked like a tree trunk said on it "one of the woodsman of the world". Strange and it was an Italian sounding name but I think from Switzerland since that is where all the other members in the family were from in the same plot.

Isn't this convincing you to come and play with me this summer. I could show you a good time. Cemeteries, swimming at the river, lots of hiking (I do live in the middle of a national forest), lots of historic buildings, a real working mine and a state park of an old mine, hikes through caves, a railroad museum, and ghost towns. All here in Nevada County- won't you come play?
