First Batch of Backpacking pictures

Emeline LOVED throwing rocks in the river. In fact, whenever I dragged her away for trivial nonsense like, say, dinner, she screamed.

If you'll notice Miriam's arms stretched out to the world and her audience, you might realize that while everyone else was throwing rocks in the river, she was standing on her stage (a large rock) and singing her heart out. Yes, I already know the girl is much like her mother.

Emeline looking a little disreputable. We kept her in her pajamas because I didn't take any sweatshirts and it was pretty chilly in the morning.

Timothy (doesn't he look so yummy in his camping outfit??!!) filtering water with Emeline's able assistance.

Emeline really thought the sporks were cool.

What a face!

I thought Kayli would like this pic.

Miriam and Cowen ran a lot of races while Timothy took down the tent.

One view of our campsite.

He's hot, but he's also strange. More strange than hot in this particular picture.

Cowen--the great explorer with hat and stick. What else does an explorer need, really?

Miriam singing or making grand pronouncements (I can't remember which with this particular picture), while Mom rested and booted Emeline out of the baby carrier.

Eating supper.

Cowen eating his "just add water loaded potatoes" that weren't entirely inedible.

Pretty shot of the shade. Misleading though as there was hardly any shade the WHOLE TIME! The only downside to this particular choice of locations.

The cow meadow. The two cows who were close to us kept the kids motivated and moving, for which Timothy and I were grateful.

The excitement of the bridge kept the kids going for a whole 15 minutes after they ran across it several times. Yeah for bridges!

He noticed the camera.
