Getting Ready for Brigham

I don't normally let my children watch movies. TV never--movies almost never. I know, I know--I'm a paranoid extremist and my children will never have any fun. Timothy's younger brothers tell me that all the time. That's okay--I think TV causes imagination shrinkage and I am prepared to take the abuse that comes with my views.

However, there are days when you need your children babysat without actually taking them anywhere or paying money. Admit it--we all have those days. Wednesday afternoon became one of those days.

My beloved sister-in-law Lindsay Ann came over Wed, right before naps, to help me with my several projects I'm doing to get ready for Baby Brigham.

While we worked on "projects" we let the kids watch Robin Hood. Cassidy, Lindsay's baby, was not that excited about Robin Hood so we plied her with raisins. Lots of raisins.





Lindsay Ann came over on Monday as well and cut out a bazillion squares to make two curtains and the peco (sp) edging for Brigham's quilt. As well as helping me finish the bumper pad.

Here is one finished curtain. If you click on the picture you'll be able to see just how fabulously cute that cowboy print is. Or, you can refer to Kayli's blog as we just made Talmage a quilt of the same material only with green bandanna material instead of blue. After I bought the material when I was preggo with Cowen, Amy (another sister) bought some for her son Chad, and we bought some for Kayli's next boy (who ended up being Talmage). It is that cute.




Here's the top of the computer hutch. Yes, the mess bugs me. No, I can't clean it up because there is NOWHERE FOR THAT STUFF TO GO! Okay--my house is small. However, I did have something of a nervous breakdown yesterday and spent about three hours (nap and an hour after the kids went to bed) organizing my bedroom. Homeschool stuff has taken over--like a fungus. Once Emeline moves downstairs (we're shooting for the end of October), I'll be able to set up Brigham's room and really satisfy all these nesting urges.


The Woman-of-the-Year. Lindsay Ann, you are the bomb. Notice that here she is pinning together squares that she cut out and then ironed into triangles. The only thing I had to do was sew the edging onto the blanket and then stitch it to the other side. Simple, right? Then WHY DID I SPEND TWO HOURS LAST NIGHT UNPICKING???? Sometimes, I really wonder about things that involve needles.
