Funny things I heard today:
1) Miriam was twirling around singing one of her made-up songs. It went something like this, "I am traveling around, finding new things, seeing new sights. I am Lewis." As in Lewis and Clark. Sweet.
2) Cowen was doing some subtraction today. One of his math pages had an apple tree with nine apples on it. Then three people each ate an apple, leaving six. So Cowen had to figure out that there were six remaining apples and draw six apples on the second tree. He sort of chuckled at this. Then three more people came along and each ate an apple. Cowen figured out that this left three apples and drew the remaining three apples on the third, bare, tree. For some reason Cowen thought it was hilarious that six apples got eaten. He giggled like a maniac and then said, "That is so silly." I have no idea what was silly and/or funny about the math problem but one thing is certain--Cowen is so silly.
3) Eli rides our new bouncy horse like a maniac. Today he bounced himself off the thing twice, smacking his head both times. Both times, he immediately started climbing back up the horse, crying with frustration until I returned him to the saddle. The thing is a menace to Eli's well-being but I'll never get rid of it. Why? Because Eli laughs like a loon the whole time he's riding. Any number of head bonks is worth hearing that sound. (I realize I'm sacrificing Eli's head and not my own . . ..)
