Tennis is not softball, but it only requires two players, two rackets, and one ball. Brilliant. What is not so brilliant is that we have 6 people in our family (and yes, Eli counts--he's always commandeering rackets) and only 4 rackets. It causes a few issues.
Still, when a man comes home and says, "Let's take the kids and play tennis," in between smooches, a girl would be crazy to refuse. I'm not crazy.
We had a great time--despite needing a few more rackets. To DI we go at the next available opportunity!
PS--My favorite racket is Miriam's. The pink makes me feel all girly. I am a little offended though that Miriam and Cowen want Dad to teach them and not me. Something about too high, too low, too hard, too soft histrionics.
I'm a softball player trying to adapt to a tennis family. Sheesh.

the tennis courts are just a 1/2 mile walk from our house so that is our favorite way to spend a summer evening after work- Me valiantly trying to play so Alma isn't bored (He plays left handed and is still a little bored) and the boys running around like lunatics throwing balls at each other and dragging their cheap rackets on the ground. (of course Alma bought ours for the Clove family tournament and they are NOT cheap- a total waste on me)
We do pretty good in the tournament only because it is doubles and I am okay at serving and staying out of Alma's way.
