Summary of the Family

Niece Olivia needed brief descriptions of each member of our gigantic family (I think we're at 51 grandkids now).  I thought I would post my descriptions here.

Andrea Nicole Rasmussen Young: 01/16/1979, loves bright colors, especially orange and lime green, likes to sing and/or dance, read, write, teach, cook, hike, snowshoe, be in the mountains for any reason, and her man.  She is very much a homebody who only likes to leave her house if mountains are involved.  Was pregnant 12 times in 13 years.  Has eight children.  Is slightly crazy.

Timothy Kenneth Young: married me--so he's kind of crazy too.  Introvert.  Perfectionist.  Hardworking.  Artsy.  Likes solving puzzles--which is why being a software developer is such a great career for him; he says he spends all day figuring out challenging puzzles.  He likes to mountain bike, play board games, read about board games, spend money on board games, snowboard, weight lift, and make out with me.

Miriam Nicole Muse Young (I give the kids a second middle name when they turn 12): Smart, creative (which is why she got "Muse" as her second middle name, after the muses in Greek mythology--the Nicole is after me), funny, talented.  She plays the piano, composes music, is fairly dramatic, is a fan of monologuing.  She likes to read.  She is very forgiving and is sensitive to spiritual things.  She makes friends with everyone.

Cowen Timothy Moroni Young: Cowen is a black and white person.  He likes rules.  He likes to follow rules.  He likes hard physical labor and physically demanding hobbies like mountain biking and hiking.  He likes Vikings and Romans and pretty much all ancient and medieval history.  He wants to build a forge in the backyard and make medieval weaponry.  He loves horses and Grandpa Jack and Smith and Edwards.  He likes being a ninja warrior.  He likes to read but ONLY fantasy and science fiction.

Emeline Beckie (Bea) Young: The Beckie is for her Grandma Beckie Young but she gets called Emeline Bea as often as she gets called Emeline.  Emeline is very maternal.  She loves babies and little kids and is my best helper with Baby One and Baby Two.  She likes to cook and sing and craft and hedgehogs.  She is happy pretty much all the time.  Although, if she were grumpy it would be hard to tell since 99% of the time she is curled up with a book somewhere.  She likes sentence diagramming.  I like that about her.

Eli Wilford Young: Named after his Great-grandpa Wilford Young and Wilford Woodruff.  Eli has creamsicle hair and lots of darling freckles.  He is pretty serious and doesn't like to be in trouble.  He loves playing the violin, hiking, sword fighting/wrestling/nerf gunning with Cowen.  He likes math.  He likes playing the piano.  He loves to draw.  He likes dinosaurs.  He is very, very sweet with the babies.  He notices things.  He's my best mopper.

Harriet Franceszka Young (Lady Harriet or Harriet Frances): Named after her great-grandma Franceszka Harley Young.  Harriet has the best giggle in the world.  She is very independent and always has been.  She is content to do her own thing and can play by herself (the rest of my kids can't).  She calls herself a naturalist and she loves to be outdoors.  She likes to color and draw and she LOVES math.  I kid you not, the girl begs every day to do math.  Weird.  Harriet sparkles.  She's just a darling girl.

Oskar John Young: John after his great-grandpa John Walburger and the "k" spelling of Oskar to honor the German heritage in the family.  Oskar is sweet.  He's very kind and very quick to comfort people or help.  He loves to run and play and roughhouse with his older brothers.  He likes to do school with the big kids and he likes to draw and color and be outside.  He's very content and almost always happy.  He likes to be tickled.

Clover Mildred Young (Clover Leafy or Clover the Leaf): Mildred after her great-grandma Mildred Bevans Rasmussen.  Clover is a happy little ball of sunshine.  She's rarely sad or mad or grumpy.  She smiles when you put her down for a nap and she smiles when you tell her no and she smiles when you play with her and she's excited about everything.  She loves grandma's house and horses and her siblings and her parents.  She likes her blanket and Elmo and her special friend, Cowen.

Annabel Sofia Young (Annabel Fay): Named after Hannah Sofia Zobell Rasmussen.  Annabel is darling.  She has a lot more attitude than some of her older siblings (like Clover and Oskar).  She doesn't hesitate to give you a "look" that tells you exactly what she's thinking.  She says really cute things like, "Op it!" and "I want more," and "No, Clover!"  She loves her blanket.  Really, really, really loves her blanket.  She makes everyone in the whole house happy just by existing.
